LEGAL ASPECTS OF INDUSTRIAL SAFETY IN MALAYSIA

This book examines industrial safety in Malaysia from a legal perspective by fusing occupational safety and health with environmental issues. Given Malaysia’s fast industrial expansion, these are serious issues that, if not handled effectively, could jeopardize public safety and health. In practically every industry in Malaysia, workplace accidents do happen and have the potential to cause fatalities or major injuries to employees.

Thus, in an effort to prevent or minimize industrial accidents, the government established regulations. The Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1994, as amended in 2022, imposes obligations on all parties involved, particularly employers, to guarantee that the workplace is safe for employees and other visitors to work there or visit.

The development of industry also depends heavily on environmental issues. There was a great deal of environmental pollution or water contamination. Workers and others living close to the workplace have suffered negative health impacts as a result of widespread environmental pollution or water contamination caused by the workplace.
